WA DAY FESTIVAL 

Optus Stadium Precinct and Burswood Park is home of the WA Day Festival for 2024. The festival is a family-friendly event that has something for everyone. There is fun galore for the kids with free carnival rides, a silent disco, family-friendly activities, art and crafts, and of course amazing free live entertainment. 

This long weekend, the festival will have two massive free music concerts featuring renowned Australian artists and local WA talent across both days on the main stage. See the full line-up and set times HERE. 

There will be live entertainment all weekend on the Lotterywest Community Stage with magicians, dance groups, acoustic singers, science shows, and story time. 

Foodies will be in heaven with Perth’s best line-up of international cuisine food trucks, and for the culture buffs, we have the Whadjuk Dreaming Dome and Dreamtime Stories presented by Navitas. 

The sky will light up with WA’s biggest-ever drone light show over the Matagarup Bridge on the Swan River. Watch 500+ drones tell the stories of WA, set to an iconic WA soundtrack and an amazing firework display. 

IS IT FREE TO ENTER THE WA DAY FESTIVAL? 

Yes. Entry to the 2024 WA Day Festival held at Optus Stadium Precinct and Burswood Park on June 2 and 3 is free for all ages. This is not a ticketed event. 

HOW DO I GET THERE?

We advise you to plan ahead and visit transperth.wa.gov.au to take advantage of the FREE public transport on offer as no Festival parking is available. Alight at Stadium Station and make your way through the Optus Stadium Precinct and along Burswood Park. 

WHAT TIME ARE THE DRONE SHOWS & FIREWORKS? 

Sunday 2 June the Drone Show and Firework display will commence from 6:45PM (weather permitting); 

Monday 3 June the Drone Show and Firework display will commence from 6:15PM (weather permitting). 

FREE LIVE MUSIC CONCERTS BOTH DAYS – THIS IS AN UNTICKETED EVENT 

SUNDAY 2 JUNE – MAIN STAGE 12PM to 9PM

PLEASE NOTE Guy Sebastian will perform AFTER the drone show and firework display on Sunday 2 June at 7:15PM. 

MONDAY 3 JUNE – MAIN STAGE 12PM to 8PM 

We’ve put WA homegrown talent front-and-centre on WA Day featuring some amazing acts including POND, Grievous Bodily Calm, Siobhan Cotchin, and more. View the Monday set times HERE. 

PLEASE NOTE POND will perform AFTER the drone show and firework display on Monday 3 June at 7:00PM. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

ACROD DROP-OFF ONLY

ACROD Drop-off area only at Marlee Loop. Please show your ACROD pass to obtain access via security.  

IS THERE AN ATM? 

Yes. Located in the WA Day Festival Zone, near the showbags and games.  

IS THERE A LICENSED AREA? 

Yes. The licensed area is situated next to the main stage. There is a zero-tolerance policy on illegal substances, drugs and underage drinking at this event. All under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who will ensure that the child/children accompanied will not be sold or offered alcohol under any circumstances and will always remain in their direct care. All bottles, including water bottles, will be asked to be emptied before entering the licensed area.

WHAT CAN I BRING TO THE EVENT? 

To help with planning for the weekend festivities and to create an enjoyable festival for everyone – here are some tips and information to help you prepare: 

  • There are no cloakrooms or storage facilities at the festival, so dress for the weather and pack light! 
  • This is a pet/dog-free event – so please leave your furry friends at home. 
  • This event is smoke-free. 
  • You can bring anything you may need, including picnic supplies and chairs, but please note NO ALCOHOL is to be brought into the festival, and any picnic supplies will not be allowed into licensed areas. 
  • For the safety of all concert attendees, standing room only is permitted at the front of the main stage.  

 FIRST AID 

First aid will be in attendance. They will be in each of the zones, see MAP for exact locations. Please approach any of our friendly staff if feeling unwell. 

WEATHER 

The festival will proceed rain or shine. Only exceptionally severe weather conditions will affect the performances, rides, drone show and fireworks, so be prepared for any scenario.
